Each year Tarrant County has thousands of confirmed victims of child abuse and neglect with about 40% on average being identified as Black.
Many Black/African American children aren’t receiving proper hair care, and they are placed in foster homes, residential treatment centers or group homes who are not equipped to provide proper hair care.
These children are at a higher risk of aging out and entering the world unprepared. Because of this need, CASA and OCOK are providing Black Hair Care Summits where children will be able to learn how to properly care for their hair and embrace their beauty within.
Join in with fellow stylists, business owners and other supporters across the state of Texas as we aim to serve these children!
