Today April 24, National CASA/GAL announced that “in accordance with the termination notices, has to suspend all services and support funded by OJJDP (Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention)…”

While this news was devastating for National CASA/GAL, which serves 174,000 children across 900 program offices annually with the help of 47,000 volunteers, CASA of Tarrant County does not currently receive direct financial support from National CASA/GAL. Federal funding received by CASA of Tarrant County is distributed by Texas CASA and is not currently at risk, but as always, this is subject to change.

However, the mission and work of CASA of Tarrant County remains unchanged: striving to help support the ever-growing number of children in our area who are in foster care or have experienced abuse or neglect. And now more than ever, visit our page to find out more about ways you can support our work, whether financially or by attending our next Information Session on how to become a CASA volunteer.
