Date: July 17, 2020
Time: 9am-11am
Presented by TBRI Practitioners: Sharon Young and Caitlyn Ussery, LCSW
Topic: Because of the impact of their histories, children from hard places often lack the experience in effectively communicating their needs and wants, complying with requests and instructions and knowing how to navigate basic aspects of relationships in a healthy way. At the same time, what these children need most to help them heal and learn is not punishment, but practice.
In this training we will be discussing the Empowering Principle. More specifically, we will teach CASA volunteers some creative ways they can help kids learn new behaviors through the use of Life Value Scripts to teach children essential relationship skills and important life values. We will also discuss creative ways CASA volunteers can help teach their kids to regulate their emotions.
