📣 Young Professional Council Member Spotlight: Melanie Bell Reynolds

“I currently volunteer as a CASA Advocate for Tarrant County and have always been passionate about helping children who unfortunately enter into foster care and the court system. During law school I interned for the Children's Law Center in New York City and represented children who were either in foster care or who were abused or neglected. I have always felt compelled to advocate for children who face these struggles and believe that more people would as well if they really knew how prevalent it was in our community. Volunteering for YPC gives me the opportunity to shine a light on an immense hurt in our community and hopefully help to bring others into CASA to experience the immense joy of helping a child through a extremely difficult time in their lives and hopefully be able to set them on a path for success in the future.”

What are you most looking forward to this year? I am looking forward to getting to know other young professionals who are passionate about CASA's mission and helping to shine a light on the issues facing our community's children.

Tell us more about you. I am an attorney at Naman Howell Smith & Lee, PLLC. My husband is a research scientist and we have 2 dogs, Anya and Sasha (we call them the comrades). We enjoy watching college football (go aggies!), hiking and baking (I recently got into making sourdough).
